Volunteer Development Officer London

Context:
Oxfam is looking for an enthusiastic individual to help support the growing campaigning activity in London and the South East.

As an integral member of the activism team, you will have a varied role - including anything from supporting our existing activists to researching new opportunities within the region.
This internship is a great opportunity for someone looking to move in to campaigning and volunteer management as a career.

Frequency: Up to 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) for 6 months.
Key responsibilities:
You will have a crucial role in mobilising activists to take current campaign actions to support the work of Oxfam in alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide
Provide vital administration support to the regional Activist Coordinator
Working with the Activist Coordinator to promote Oxfam in local communities and develop campaign and public engagement initiatives
Make contact with community groups and organisations to engage them in Oxfam's work and encourage them to support us
Attend meetings on behalf of Oxfam in the evenings or at weekends
Skills and competencies:
Good interpersonal skills and organisational skills
Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel
An interest in Oxfam's work and international development
Campaigning experience preferable, but not essential
Ability to work as part of a team, self motivate and meet agreed and self imposed deadlines
