Paid Editorial Internship @ WIRED (London)

Deadline: 19th August 2012

Salary: National minimum wage

Want to intern at Wired.co.uk? Then good news: we're looking for you.

Wired.co.uk has an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic intern to join its expanding editorial team. This is a six-month paid internship and a chance to get directly involved in Wired.co.uk's daily news and features process and experience the way WIRED magazine and Wired.co.uk work together.

The primary role of the successful candidate involves production, such as preparing WIRED magazine content for online publication, as well as supporting the Editor with uploading freelance copy to Wired.co.uk and other tasks. But the best candidate will also be able to write tight and timely original content for the website's news channel, help with social media activity, get involved with all editorial meetings and planning, join our podcast and arrive every day with great ideas for stories, photographs and features.

A passion for technology, science and culture is an absolute must and a creative mind is key to being successful. Knowledge of web publishing systems is enormously advantageous, as is experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat. Experience writing original copy for an online or print publication is, naturally, also preferable, though not essential.

To apply, please send a cover letter and CV to recruitment@condenast.co.uk along with five ideas for news stories that you think would fit Wired.co.uk, one of which should be written up in 300 words or less.
