Channel 4 Internship - London

What's a Channel 4 Internship all about?
You'll spend twelve months based in London working in one particular business area of Channel 4, getting involved in all aspects of that department's work, finding out what makes it tick and understanding the part it plays in Channel 4 as a whole.
We offer a mixture of office and production based internships to suit all media ambitions. Departments that have previously offered placements include Commissioning, Box TV (production), Marketing, Sales and Online. For more info on Channel 4's departments and the jobs they do, check out our 'I Wanna Be In...' pages.
We don't require any special qualifications, not even a degree. But if you do thats fine too - we are looking for is enthusiasm, interest and, most of all, talent!
What can I expect?
This is a long term training placement, so you'll be busy with plenty of specific projects and assignments to get stuck into. The placement is designed to help you to challenge yourself and quickly build your skills in an active learning environment. No two days are the same in the media and you'll be involved in some important, exciting tasks in an ever changing industry.
Alongside your department, the People Development team  will support you throughout and make sure you're developing the skills you need to get your foot in the door of the industry. And, on top of all this, you'll receive £20,000 too.

Who are we looking for?
Basically, we're looking for people who'll recognise the potential of these opportunities and grab it with both hands. You'd definitely need to be a strong communicator - someone who's happy to talk to people at all levels here at Channel 4 and externally. You'll also be keen to learn of course. But on top of that, you must be prepared to work hard and muck in with whatever needs doing to keep the department running smoothly. We have no upper age limit on our internships and encourage applications from career changers.
Tips for success
  • Be bold and creative, write well and take your time. Make the most of the opportunity.
  • Show us you know your stuff and where you want to go. We're looking for people who have a real, developed interest in being involved in the media and have the talent to succeed.
  • Be focused and understand the department or production team you're applying to work in, catering your application to impress the person you (eventually) want to emulate.
