The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is the professional body for every pharmacist in Great Britain
and represents all sectors.
The RPS leads and supports the development of the pharmacy profession within the context of the
public benefit. This includes the advancement of science, practice, education and knowledge in
pharmacy. In addition, it promotes the profession’s policies and views to a range of external
stakeholders in a number of different forums.
As part of your internship with us you will gain knowledge in the areas relating to Public Affairs,
Corporate Communications and Health and Pharmacy policy.
You will be a graduate who is keen to obtain work experience prior to embarking on a career. You
will have an enthusiasm in one or more of the above mentioned areas with a keen interest in
healthcare. But most importantly you will have a willingness to work hard and a positive attitude. You
will possess good oral and written communication skills.
You will be working in a small, friendly team of communications professionals focussed on promoting
the professions views and influencing healthcare policy for the benefit of patients. The internship
scheme is open to anyone wishing to gain some fantastic experience in health related public affairs,
public relations and policy work.
We are currently offering the placement for an RPS communications intern to 'work shadow' as we:
- Plan and execute public facing campaigns
- Implement social media strategies
- React to media and stakeholder enquiries
- Plan events with external stakeholders
We're looking for positive people with demonstrable interests in:
- social media and health policy
- campaigning on health issues
- learning about pharmacy and medicines related policy
