Are you frustrated by mistakes and misinformation in politics and the media? Full Fact, the independent campaign to make political debate more accurate and informed, is looking to recruit full-time writers and researchers as part of its internship programme.

Joining a small team, you will be given real responsibility across all our areas of output, including writing factchecks and blog posts, researching reports and campaigning for Full Fact's goals. Full Fact reaches a large audience among the public, as well as many media and political opinion-formers. We are also closely engaged with the Leveson Inquiry into the culture, practices and ethics of the press, meaning your work will have real influence.

Previous volunteers have gone on to a variety of jobs in politics and the media.

The position is based in central London and is advertised on a voluntary basis, although travel within London (Zones 1-2) and reasonable lunch expenses will be reimbursed.

The key qualifications and skills we are looking for include:

Strong academic record
Good knowledge of and interest in British politics and the media
Excellent writing ability and telephone manner
Understanding of the importance of political neutrality to Full Fact's work
Most importantly, enthusiasm for Full Fact's objectives and a desire to contribute to all aspects of our work

Interview/Start Dates:

Interviews will be held in London in mid-November, and we hope the successful candidate(s) will be able to start soon after (this will be discussed with candidates). We're looking for an initial commitment of two months, although there is the potential to extend the placement for a further month for the right candidate(s).

We also have internship opportunities available starting January 2012, and will consider applications for this start date if preferable.
